Visit places rich in history – Stone Age caves, Roman ruins, the glories of Medieval and Renaissance cities. There are no fewer than six UNESCO World Heritage Sites within between half an hour and two hours’ drive of La Brèche – the Pont du Gard, Avignon, Arles, Orange, the Causses and Cévennes and the Chauvet Cave, as well as Vaucluse, Nîmes, Aix-en-Provence, Aigues Mortes and the Mediterranean beaches.
Wander through charming villages, visit bustling markets, discover local produce and celebrate the good things in life. Visit the many local domaines and follow the Route Touristique des Côtes du Rhône directly from the village towards Avignon. You can find everything within a short drive or cycle-ride of La Brèche, including chic Uzès, the ceramics centre of Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie, and hilltop Lussan.
This is “the real France”, where life moves at the pace of the seasons, where days are unhurried, lunchtimes long, nights star-filled and peaceful, and where there’s always time to sit back and enjoy the moment.
Walk, cycle or drive the easy, scenic roads through vineyards and forests, olive-groves and orchards, sunflowers, lavender-fields, mountains, hills and sunny valleys. You can hire bikes, visit local riding schools, play golf or tennis, or swim or canoe on local rivers.
